Snorkeling: Guests learn that coral reefs are like bustling cities under the sea where each critter has a job within its community. Naturalists lead snorkel excursions during the day and at night, and at a shipwreck!

Submarine rides: The Atlantis XI Submarine was specifically designed for underwater sightseeing- a perfect window into the underwater world of the coral reef. Guests explore Grand Cayman’s marine park to depths of up to 100 feet!

Photography: Photography is a great way to take memories and leave only bubbles. Naturalists guide guests in photography sessions above AND below water. Guests also get the chance to film their own environmental public service announcement!

Kayaking: Kayaking through mangroves provides an opportunity to learn about these amazing, salt-tolerant trees and their vital connection the health of the coral reef.

Arts and crafts: Several arts and crafts activities show guests how to turn trash into treasures, using unlikely objects to make art. Guests also learn how to use natural materials to create traditional Caymanian crafts.

Tide pooling: Explorations of tide pools reveal critters cleverly adapted to live in this dynamic environment.

Gardening: Guests learn what it means to be organic and how compost can be used to grow delicious foods that would please any chef.

Star gazing: With a telescope as a window into the night sky, guests explore various myths and legends surrounding the constellations.

Blue iguana encounters: A visit to the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park reveals the efforts on Grand Cayman to protect the blue iguana, a species that lives exclusively on Grand Cayman Island.

Cooking adventures: Guests learn about organic food, composting and sustainable gardens while cooking some tasty organic treats in a solar oven.

Sustainable living lessons: Guests learn about solar technology and other renewable energy sources, the three R’s (reduce, recycle and reuse), and what they can do at home to lead a sustainable lifestyle to minimize impact on the environment.
