The Amazon

Expeditions:Caiman

Diving in the Amazon River can be a challenging experience. Dark tannin-stained waters, currents, fallen trees and branches can all provide obstacles and hazards. But the mystery of what the water holds compels the divers to explore.

In this short film we delve into the unknown with Jean-Michel Cousteau joined by his son Fabien and daughter Céline, as they encounter a Caiman, also called Jacaré. Caimans are the South American relatives of the alligator. Watch as the Cousteaus meet this formidable reptile on its own terms.
