Jean-Michel Cousteau Honored with the Knight of the Legion of Honor
It has been a historical day for Jean-Michel Cousteau. He has been officially awarded the highest French Civilian Order of Distinction, the Chevalier de la Légion D’Honneur, Knight of the Legion of Honor, from President Hollande of France at the Élysées in Paris.
Jean-Michel was surrounded by his family and friends as the President pinned him with a prestigious medal of honor. It was a beautiful evening in Paris.
The entire OFS team congratulates Jean-Michel for inspiring us all to see a bright future filled with many opportunities for creative solutions to protect our water planet and ourselves.
Jean-Michel continues to work tirelessly to engage humanity to think about sustainability. This medal of honor he accepts on behalf of all those who dedicate their lives to ocean education and protection.
From Jean-Michel Cousteau:
“If we are to protect our ocean home and create a better future for us now, and for generations to come, we must continue to raise our voices together. This immense honor is for all of us. When you protect the ocean, you protect yourself."
