OFS Members Give Back - Alexandra

November 30, 2016

We believe every person counts when it comes to making
a significant difference in protecting our water planet.

Jean-Michel Cousteau and the Ocean Futures Society team have once again been deeply touched and inspired by the power and actions of one individual person. This time it was nine-year old Alexandra, who felt compelled to ask her family and friends to support the marine education and conservation efforts of OFS in lieu of receiving gifts for her 10th birthday this past month.

Alexandra participated in one of our Ambassadors of the Environment programs this past summer where she spent two adventure-filled weeks with two of our many engaging and experienced naturalists, Nicole and Leslie, in French Polynesia. Through Alexandra’s experience becoming an Ambassador of the Environment, she was motivated to take action as soon as she returned to her hometown in Santa Barbara, CA. From selling lemonade and collecting funds to donate to OFS, to organizing beach clean up events with friends, Alexandra is one very motivated and inspiring young girl who gives her voice to all those animals who do not have voices, especially to the animals she loves the most, dolphins.

We thank Alexandra and her family for all their hard work and support, and for sharing their passion in ocean protection with us.

Oceans of hugs and thanks! ☺

For her birthday, Alexandra’s fundraising campaign was a huge success. If you are inspired by what Alexandra has done and you wish to do something similar, we are happy to assist you in building your own personalized and unique fundraising page to support our marine conservation work at OFS. It's easy, super fun and a wonderful way to spread the awareness of all the great work at OFS and support our mission; to explore our global ocean, inspiring and educating people throughout the world to act responsibly for its protection, documenting the critical connection between humanity and nature, and celebrating the ocean's vital importance to the survival of all life on our planet.
